You've got the "We Got Nothing Party" and the "We've Got No Spine Party"

On failed American leadership

I don't know why of the few who know me so many believe I am still a card-carrying defender of all things Democrat. Perhaps it's because I've found so little positive to say about any Republicans or Tea Baggers so you won't find an endorsement of mine for either of those parties.

However, neither have I endorsed any Democrats whose tired old campaign tactics reflect (I suspect more than most of the Democratic leadership realize) how tired and unimaginative their election campaigns come across.

In the 3rd District, Denny Heck's campaign and fund-raising methods are principal examples. Heck is no old man but his campaign comes across like he has modeled himself on Dino Rossi, whose campaign is so generic Rossi could run for Sen or Rep in any number of states and change absolutely nothing in the ad's he runs here (except for Murray's name and picture.)

Really now, if all I am tempted with is "Give Congress Heck!", then I'm not really tempted. Maybe when I fill out my ballot I'll skip the 3rd District vote boxes because at this point I'm not impressed with either candidate and not excited about Heck disappointing me or Herrera confirming my doubts.

Whatever happened to the guy the Democratic Fathers and Mothers asked to step aside for the Hecking good of the party? Wouldn't his newness and youthful zest have put him closer in the polls to Herrera?

I know I'm not sending any money in any campaign direction this year.

And if name recognition, or a unique name that attracts attention means anything, I'm already getting multiple reports that party affiliation means little to a majority of the Latino voters in district three as much as the Republican's last name.

It's hard to blame them.

Maybe the 3rd District election symbolizes the ongoing civic ignorance and lack of thinking for one's self that remains so dominant all over the country. We still seem to be a nation whose majority electorate is primarily sound-bite-driven.

Maybe then these younger voters need to suffer after at least one more Corporate Republican governance before finally getting the message. The terror of course is that maybe genuine critically thinking voters is the stuff of myth and legend. Maybe a majority of voters who think for themselves has gone the way of the neighborhood  mom and pop department stores.

Maybe that entire voting block will never mature and the pitiful public relations failures of Flush Limbaugh, Squawk Hannity and The Fracture O' Reilly and that ultimate Mt. Vernon/Mormon Trainwreck Beck will constitute the total wisdom of a party with only a pretense to having the  little working men and women in their hearts.

Maybe that entire voting block will never come to see that they have teamed up with the broadcast money-makers to become THE significant problem  with no connecting relationship to understanding solutions.

Maybe the only way is to figure out some sort of voter's intelligence test founded on Constituional values ... but then who could you get to design such a thing without a partisan agenda?

God flooded the planet because of circumstances like these with children masquerading as adults.

Consider the following Republican advocacies and failures that are nationally ignored or looked away from because talking heads got too many voters to angry to be rational.

(1) Fighting the war on terror while remaining strictly stuck with the Republican Tax Cut Experiment.

(2) Fighting a war on terror that no longer has logic, common sense or any kind of national success story attached to the Republican methods and lies that got us into an inappropriate killing match.

(3) Figthing a war on terror with an eye single to how to incorporate strategy and tactics in such a way as to create exceedingly lucrative opportunities to corporate supporters the party.

(4) Republican child-abuse ...The national debt reflects an abusive act this country's Republican leadership has committed on our children and grandchildren. I know both parties bear responsibility but in those corporate heyday years of Bushlivion the Republican Congress made the slide slipparyier and slopier.

More than anything, Republicans with impunity have treated our children as economic assets over whom they assume they have comptrollership.

(5) Lack of health care and opposition to universal health care is part and parcel of the conservative myth about a free-market system going back to the stubborn in-denial theorizing of failed capitalists of the 1920's.

Then, post -WWII - it was assumed that capitalism and American employers could shoulder the responsibility for health coverage for all American workers. This was to prove to the world the wholesome power of unrestricted free-markets where capitalist employers would willingly include health care and other well-being benefits in the "cost of doing business" prior to making claim on net profit.

That assumption has proven to be a disaster.

Corporate America - primarily a money tossing sponsor that rewards political sacrifice of personal ethics with money - has been left with a competitive  advantage globally - in no small measure aided and abetted by the threat of military violence.

Corporate America for the most part has demonstrate an inability to resist the temptation to become competitive by robbing workers of both job and health security.

This circumstance involved both parties going back to 1946, but most recently, those who finally managed to purchase political influence have moved the problem to its extreme absurdity.

Republicans no longer have a sensible alternative to what Americans are demanding now.

"Conservative" is a word that even self-styled conservatives can no longer accurately define. Self-describing one's self as "conservative" is at this moment not much more than calling one's self a "cowboy" or some other heroic self image that implies a wisdom founded on shallow quick-trigger thinking.

We are not hearing serious, deep or well-reasoned conservative ideas from the Limbathists, Hannities, Boehners, Gingrichs or even thunder jaws like the Crybaby Christian.

Prime Republican bread and butter is the distraction of the pseudo Christian morality that makes political mountains out of molehills at the expense of that with which any religious believer ought to be most focused: Compassion, justice and equality.

Any Republican who throws up one of the pseudo "moral" issues needs to be immediately confronted with a question about torture, injustice and inequality inside America and globally.

"That's nice, Mr. Republican, but what does your personal morality prompt in you regarding torture, injustice, inequality and the lack of compassion your party and your radical religious right supporters ignore so pointedly?"

Should we not knock down the entire facade of the Republican party's pretended patriotism, conservatism and regard for humanity because it was built on bull, bluff, personal political chicanery and swift-bloat lies.

How might we do that? How might we work to stop such shallow thinking from pervading the schools and churches where many kids are kaptives?

Would you want such vile political jokers teaching high school government classes?

... Or contracting the job out to a corporation which is by definition sociopathic?

Hell no.
