but kudos to you. I see red reading some of the terminology used.
But - I do engage a conservative Baptist colleague with alot of the same approach that you outline on an almost daily basis and we are really good friends. And, I have family members.... And, I do do community stuff where I do not assume that people share my views, but yet we chat about the state of the world.
Totally agree that basic respect is the key.
I guess without the human, full communication factor, I would respond like a troll in the environment you are describing. Or maybe respond like I feel like they are trolls.
Anyway, you are a braver person than I.
(and parenthetically)
At least the sites you are on are not nonsensical like the Seattle P-I Soundoffs, which by the way now seem to have to take people away from the 'on the ground' important work they are doing to educate people. I wonder how many people who will make any difference sre involved in the Soundoffs or is it just a guilty pleasure? How much is it just trolls promulgating crazy ignorant stuff so that good citizens need to spend their time setting straight for anyone who might believe the crazy stuff? How much of the public is really participating or reading this stuff?
